The problem with Indy ...

Every popcorn muncher who goes to three movies a year is going to go to this one. And they're going to be disappointed. And they're going to go home and complain that Hollywood doesn't do anything original or good. And then they won't return for any of the original or good movies that come out the rest of the year.

I disagree with your 100% disappointment rate estimation. Sure, some people are going to be disappointed, but many will be perfectly satisfied.

I'm with Jeff. I don't think most people were as disappointed as you were, Kevin. Granted, it's not the second coming of Indy. At the very least, it's a serviceable inclusion in the canon that is better than the second film.

I enjoyed myself. I'm not banging down the door of the cineplex to see it again, but I had a good time. It was nice to see Indy on the big screen again (actually for the first time for me, since I've only seen the other three on DVD).

Fair enough, guys. Maybe I am nitpicking. I can admit when I'm beat.
But it does bug me that thinking this is the only trip a lot of people will make to the theater this year, because I'd rather see the money go to sometihing more original. Hopefully we can agree on that.
