How good does this make Lawrence Kasdan, in retrospect? He wrote the two best blockbusters -
Raiders of the Lost Ark and
The Empire Strikes Back - within a couple years. True, I'm sure they had alterations, contributions from others, etc. But it's a nice feather in the resume

I'll give him some extra points for Grand Canyon in 1991 as well.
Also consider that these are generally considered to be the two best entries in their respective enormously successful franchises.
I wonder what he could do with a James Bond movie.
He loses a couple of bonus points for the kid that did In The Land of Women however...
Kasdan also, lest we get too sentimental, most recently wrote and directed DREAMCATCHER. But your point remains, an amazing one-two accomplishment.
