I don't think they'd mind me saying that I saw Speed Racer tonight and, wow!

I thought the original trailer was brilliant. Totally brilliant. I hate the cartoon, but even if the movie is the hollowest of shells, it seriously reminded me of Moulin Rouge level insanity and eye candy. I really want to see it.
The Wachowski bros certainly put a lot of effort into making Speed Racer... the movie overall looked and felt like a cross between anime, a kaleidoscope, that Flintstones movie, a video game and the Dukes of Hazard
Due to a recent Federal Trade Commission decision, I think it best to reveal that, yes, I receive free admission to most of the films that I review. This is the standard practice among film reviewers, and it does not affect my opinion. Unless noted otherwise, you should assume that I received free admission. I have never been on a junket and I do not plan to start. Although in the future, it is possible that I might decide to start interviewing actors, directors, etc.

I can't say a lot at this point.
I'm fine with it being a certain kind of terrible. However, it seems that there is no way it will hit the very small sweet spot.
