The Talented Mr. Ripley - Anthony Minghella - has passed, at age 54. I've always felt more satisfied with
The English Patient than other film snobs, even with that wacky attempted murder by crashing airplane.
English Patient was a wonderful film. There is cachet in detesting it, but we're not all robots.
